Coffee shop thoughts while researching about conscious consumerism..
It’s too easy to outwardly care about something these days that sometimes genuine compassion is difficult to pinpoint even within ourselves. Sometimes anonymous giving, refraining from exposing good deeds, and independently exploring genuine interests are the best forms of activism because they change your heart and mind and not just your reputation. This may take us further in our cause. You can wear the t-shirt, and buy the eco-labeled product, but anonymity is not dead. The cliche “You are who you are when no one is watching” is not dead. Intention rules your life. Not just what you buy.
I believe in this so much right now, and it’s frightening and convicting and empowering.
