Anonymous asked: How important is your spiritual life? Do you go to church?

How important? That seems like an odd question but I’ll answer it. It’s odd because I feel like there is no separation from my “regular” life and my “spiritual life”. Everything is spiritual.  While my understanding of Christianity has changed throughout the years,I still go to church. I found a really cool church here in DC called the District Church.  They pride themselves on community, worship and justice. I love the familiarity of church and the peace and community it offers. It’s so important to me. It serves as a constant reminder that I’m here on this earth to help create better things and to reconnect myself and others to community. I don’t know if I could say I 100% agree with all the pillars of christianity anymore, but I still believe God is present in our lives everyday and I need to slow down and realize I’m apart of something bigger than myself every morning I wake up. And truth and meaning are worth grappling with, and fighting for. Always.
